Food security is a major national priority. Ensuring a stable and secure supply of grain and important agricultural products has always been the top task in building a strong agricultural country. To accomplish this "top task," General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized the need to simultaneously work on both the "addition" and "subtraction" aspects of grain, improving grain production capacity while also enhancing post-harvest grain services to secure China's rice bowl more firmly and steadily. As an important grain-producing province in the country, Henan shoulders the heavy responsibility of ensuring national food security. In recent years, Henan Province has earnestly implemented the relevant decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee, continuously increasing efforts to save and reduce losses in post-harvest grain processes, achieving positive results. However, the tasks of saving and reducing losses across all links of the post-harvest grain industry chain remain heavy, with issues of "leakage and waste" in every link. Therefore, deeply analyzing the current status of post-harvest grain services in Henan Province and proposing improvement plans is of great significance for addressing the shortcomings in Henan's post-harvest grain services and effectively ensuring national food security.

What are some simple home methods to prevent insects in rice?
1) Ventilation and Bran Removal Method: During summer, the weather changes significantly, and rice bran tends to become sticky, leading to insect infestation. After entering summer, the stored rice can be sifted again to remove fine bran and stored in a ventilated place to prevent insect infestation. (2) Sichuan Pepper Insect Prevention Method: Pack 50g of Sichuan pepper powder in a small cloth bag and place it in the rice container. Seal the container mouth with plastic film. The volatile substances released by the Sichuan pepper in the sealed container can prevent and kill insects. (3) Garlic Insect Prevention Method: Garlic contains allicin. Burying garlic in the rice can prevent insects. (4) Orange Peel Insect Prevention Method: Orange peel contains citral. Burying orange peel in the rice can repel and prevent insects. (5) Freezing Insect Prevention Method: Place the insect-infested rice in a plastic bag, seal the bag tightly, and put it in the freezer compartment of the refrigerator. After 48 hours, take it out to kill the rice weevils.

On April 19, Li Jinghui, a member of the Party Leadership Group of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, introduced at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office that the Ministry is fully committed to winter and spring agricultural production, effectively responding to the freezing rain, snow, and cold wave weather this past winter and spring, strengthening technical guidance and services, promoting the transformation and upgrading of crop conditions, and gradually laying a solid foundation for a bumper grain and oil harvest this summer.
